Ether Books is a new and innovative mobile publisher of short content fiction, non-fiction, poetry and serials by new and established contemporary writers.

We accept direct submissions from ALL writers and we publish only the very best work to mobile where it can attract a truly global readership!

Ether Membership

All writers can submit their work to us for FREE through our Bronze membership. This entitles you to up to five submissions and a maximum 90 day feedback guarantee.

We also have a NEW Silver Membership option for only £25. This membership entitles you to ‘fast-track’ your submissions and receive feedback on your work within 2 weeks, the option of submitting up to 10 pieces to us and other membership extras.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for short fiction, essays, poetry and episodic serials which work as a ‘byte sized read’ for mobile. We publish every genre from Horror to Humour, Crime to Erotica. If your work is a genre which is not listed, enter it as ‘other’ and specify the genre you would like to list it under because we are expanding our list all the time!

We also publish content for third parties including other publishers, magazines, writing groups and competitions. If you wish to apply to become an affiliate of Ether Books, please take a look at our Affiliate Program.

We define short as under 5,000 words but we have been known to publish longer and the majority of our content is under 3,000 words. Ether also publishes ‘Flash Fiction’ which can be anything between 50 – 750 words.

We will publish all work under 1000 words as a free download. If your work is fiction under 750 words, please submit it under our Flash Fiction genre.

Make sure you read our style guide BEFORE submitting your work to us. We are not an editorial service and we do reject submissions which do not conform to our guidelines or need significant editing. As a Silver member we can suggest a number of editorial services which could help you if this is the case.
