Executive Team

Maureen Scott

CEO & Co-founder Maureen has extensive experience in the mobile content industry and was a founder director of the Mobile Marketing Association. Extensive start-up experience includes Trivanti, the first mobile internet start-up launched in 2000 by Psion PLC. In Corporate Development at Openwave PLC, a very acquisitive mobile internet start-up, her biggest deal was the $122M acquisition of Musiwave, a French mobile music start-up.

Jon Pickles

CFO Jon is an experienced CFO with a strong technology background. He was part of the management team that sold Intellexis International for £2.2 million, before as CFO he led the growth of AIM-quoted ILX Group plc from £1m to £14m turnover through acquisition and international expansion. He has a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from London University and is a chartered global management accountant.

Tree

CTO Tree worked as technical architect and manager at a bunch of startups (Gabble, GameWorld7, NoodleHeaven, The Filter). He has worked through games, interactive music, recommendations and marketing technology spaces, with recent roles as Head of Tech at Gabble and as VP Engineering at The Filter developing technology strategy and product portfolio.

Non-Executive Board

Andrew Wyatt

Chairman Over 20 years experience within the IT sector working for pioneering companies such as Lotus Development who led the establishment of the PC, Phone.com who instigated the Mobile internet revolution and Apertio who defined the Telco Subscriber Data Management market. A highly successful CxO level entrepreneur, adept at working with small ideas and growing them in to world beating companies. 4 successful exits - Lotus Development ($3.52bn), Paragon Software ($515m), Apertio ($200m) & Clearswift ($50m).

Dr Mike Jones

Co-founder Mike has been CTO and CIO at several startup companies and large-scale operations, prior to founding Ether Books. Recent startup successes include: OD2, acquired by LoudEye/Nokia; Exec Appointments, acquired by Pearson Group; and The Filter which is privately held. Mike built the first version of the Ether platform and was the founding CTO/COO at Ether Books.

Mark Gretton

Non-Executive Director Mark has a long history in consumer electronics. He was a founder and CTO of a high tech start-up in the eighties then went on to hold various senior technology management positions in Psion including joining the executive board of Psion Software which was spun out to form Symbian. He then spent seven years as CTO of TomTom where he oversaw exponential growth . Since 2011 he has been a founder and non-executive director at Crave Interactive, a start-up focused on the hospitality IT market.

Andrew Hayward

Publishing Advisor Andrew has had a distinguished career in the UK Publishing industry. With nearly thirty years of experience with Penguin Pearson and Constable & Robinson, where he was sales and marketing director and then commercial director. He was chair of the Books N ginger group which, amongst other successes, initiated what is now the UK version of World Book Day. He was also on the export committee of the Publishers Association.

Margaret Gold

Business Launch Specialist Margaret is a mobile industry veteran and one of the Founders of Over the Air, the UK's premier mobile developer event. As an innovation & business launch specialist she has worked with a wide range of start-ups and corporate ventures. Past projects include launching the Mobile Application Centre at Imperial College, advising Vodafone Betavine, re-positioning Mobillcash for acquisition, and rolling out the LUUP UK business.

Ted Wugofski

Advisor Ted Wugofski has more than 20 years experience as a successful business executive and technology innovator in the software industry. Ted has been GM and CTO for numerous start-ups and established companies in the mobile industry. He and his teams have built dozens of mobile apps, operated web and mobile storefronts, and built on-device software used by consumers across the globe. He has had executive and leadership positions at Aepona, Handmark, 8th Ring,Openwave, and Gateway Computer.
